Small Business Startup - Certificate

The Certificate of Achievement in Small Business Start-Up is designed for students or working professionals who want to deepen their understanding of owning and operating a small business. As an integral part of the program, each student is required to develop a business plan which includes provisions for financing, site selection, marketing, budgeting, record keeping, physical facilities, incorporation, insurance, inventory control, and possible franchising.

Program Learning Outcomes:
  • Students will analyze small business situations and determine best course of action.
  • Students will develop an effective business plan.

To earn this certificate, students must complete the minimum required courses with a grade of C (or P) or better.
